Amazon: The Naked Chef

The first time I read this book was in  mid May of this year. Yes, you read that correct I said the first time. I have this thing called short term memory loss so I like to re-read books when an author puts out another book. Sometimes it is because it is a series of books and other times it is simply because I really like the style of the writing and it helps me to get back into their head set. Also, with this author I wanted to really read this as if I was Reggie, the chef and see if I saw things differently than I did the first time I read the book. Would my review change or would it be the same?

 My original review on Goodreads can be located HERE if you would like to read it. I can tell you I will be doing a little editing to my review with a note that it is from my second time to read it of course.

I am one of those Readers who reviews but will not give a story away, Just not my thing, Don't like to read reviews that tell me the whole story line so I do not do it myself. I love the fact that this book could be my family (well my children or my husband's family). Latina all the way, It is like taking our kitchen and Sunday's and placing it into her book. 

The Naked Chef has everything I could want in a great book. It has a strong woman and an Alpha male. *YES you CAN have both* with romance, some mystery and a whole bunch of Heat.

I still came to the same conclusion at the end of the book that I am hoping that  Chef Reggie and Talent Scout Tracy Thompson have a second book in the future and also I want to see Tanner's story too.

My Review:
This is one of my favorite book series. when I get down in the dumps i will get this book and read it to cheer me up and get me high on life again. Julia Kent has that special way of bringing laughter romance and hot sex all together into one very good read. Something very few people can do and do well. She does it time and time again. This is just the start of her doing this. The complete Random series is this way.

This book gets us started by picking up a hot as heck hitchhiker wearing nothing but his guitar. It has a gal who is curvy like me *yea* and said hitchhiker's friend Joe who is just as hot gets thrown into the mix and you have a trio of lust and fun.

The Secret Heir Of Sunset Ranch Review

I grew up reading Harlequin books from the age of 12 with my mom.  Every so often I like to pick one up on my kindle and read one, And the "Slades of Sunset Ranch Series" by Charlene Sands has been a set of books I really enjoyed. This is the third book and so far my favorite.

I like the Slade brothers and I have been waiting for the last brother to finally come and home so we would know his story. And what a story it was. Kat and Justin met in New York but she thought he was someone else (he swapped id;s with a fellow solider). Turns out she ended up getting pregnant from their one weekend encounter and she had no way of locating him. She finally found him (or so she thought) and discovered he was killed in action.

Later Justin Slade comes home to meet Brett's (Who Kath thought Justin was) Aunt to tell her how her nephew had died only to run into Kat and discover he was a father. This is their story and what a wild ride it is. It is a really good book and there were times i wanted to shake both kids and say YOU BOTH are WRONG and other times I wanted to say FOOLISH FOOLISH FOOLISH  look at each other! If you have not read the other books in the series grab them and read them, Great series and and a really good author.

Harder Than Words by Carrie Ann Ryan

This has to be my favorite Montgomery Ink book to date! Carrie Ann Ryan OH MY WORD you had me in tears! Finally Finally Finally I got what I have been wanting for so long. I can not say in my review what I wanted , nor what happened because that would spoil it for you and I am not that kind of a reviewer. I would never give away a story line...ever.  

I will say this, where  ever you are reading "Harder Than Words" make sure you have a box of Kleenex handy. This book touches all the bases for me. 

This could not have been an easy book for the author to write. Meghan Montgomery- Warren and her children Sasha and Cliff lived thru so much which you will learn about as you read this book, Luc Dodd and Meghan have been Best Friends forever and I think they both were in love with each other and never really knew it until it was to late to turn back. Pick up your copy and find out their past and their present and look to their future.

Welcome to Flipped My Pages

Welcome to Flipped My Pages.
Four years ago I had a series of strokes that took away a good part of my memories. Memories of things that were going on at that time. My oldest daughter's wedding and the birth of my first grand daughter Zoe. While recovering and going through more strokes and recovery, I ordered a kindle and re-discovered the joy of reading. I read and read and did not think anything about it other than MAN i was spending more money than I really should be spending on Amazon, but I never thought to actually track how many books I actually read until this year when I accepted a book challenge on Goodreads.

The challenge was to pick a number and log your book as reviews into Goodreads and also into any other book sites that your purchase your books from throughout the year. At the end of the year see if you have reached your goal. Hey, that sounds great I can do that and it was also a great way to remind me to review the books that I read. (I was very bad about moving right into a new book and forgetting to review the book that I finished. I still have marathon review sessions but I do review every book I read now.)

Once I hit 200 books June 1 i realized it was time to start blogging about some of my favorite or maybe not so favorite books, so that is where Flipped My Pages came to be.
