His Scot's Montana Bride is Heart Warming and A Belly Warming Recipe As Well

While reading Jessica Gilmore's The Scot's Montana Bride I kept going back in my memories to recipes handed down by my Grandmother who is part Scottish. I dug around in her recipe files, found one and adjusted it to fit my eating methods. I am going to include it at the bottom so be sure to read all the way to the end.

First off what grabbed me was this beautiful cover on this book. I have to say that Tule Publishing Group has some of the best covers out there.
This book did remind me of listening to my Grandmother tell me of her Grandparents and Author Jessica Gilmore brings out the character of Jamie McKendrick so alive and well. The Valentine Family had me looking inward towards my own large family and thinking about how we relate towards each other. Kat's Aunt Louisa and her baking and her late Uncle Steve who helped her plan her trip.
I hope you will take a moment to read just how much I enjoyed this book and if you peek at the bottom you will see the recipe I adapted for   Breakfast Muffins. Perfect for the Ranch ;) and any time of the day.

The Scot's Montana Bride (The Scots Take Montana #1)The Scot's Montana Bride by Jessica Gilmore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh I picked up this book and could not stop until the end. Maybe my Scottish roots were calling to the Scotsman inside. I am not sure... but I can tell you one thing there is just something about a hunk in a kilt ya know.
In this book we get to know the Valentine family up close and personal right well. Kat comes home from walking about all over Europe and abroad because of her sick Grandpa. Where is HOME you ask? Its a little bit outside of Marietta, Montana in Mountain View. She is taking care of the family the and ranch (dude ranch) and up comes her ...surprise HUSBAND. Oh yes she forgot to mention to her family that she up and got married while she was walking and working her way across the continent. And oh what a fine Husband Jamie McKendrick is. Not only in looks but in character. This book is well written and for me it shows so much about family and heart. This book lays the foundation for upcoming books about this family, which I will happily grab and read the moment they hit my kindle. There where so many little things in this book that had me reaching into my childhood for memories from my grandma for her Scottish recipes to sayings. I recommend this read. It's not to long and prefect for relaxing this holiday weekend in the States.

**Corn Free Homemade Vanilla Abstract**
I have corn allergies so I make my own vanilla abstract which is easy and actually tastes so much better.
Get a large glass container like from a craft story with a screw on lid. Make sure to wash and dry it before you start. You will need to purchase only 2 other items. Fresh Vanilla beans and Potato Vodka. I use Choplin Potato Vodka. It is certified gluten and corn free.
Pour the vodka into the bottle til about 1 inch from the top.
Take 2 vanilla beans and cut them down the middle long ways. Start to open up the bean pod so that you are getting the little seeds lose but not out because this is what makes this wonderful Vanilla flavor.
Place the beans and any lose vanilla seeds into the jar and put the top on tight. Shake it well. Place it into a dark cabinet for 6 weeks. 4 weeks in go get it out and get it a hard shake. Put it back. At 6 weeks open it up and get it a smell. Does it still have that vodka smell? If yes, close it up and put it back for another 2 weeks. My first Batch took 8 weeks to make the best Vanilla Abstract i have ever used. I have been using it for 1 year now. If you keep it in a cool dark place it has a long shelf life.

The Bull Rider's Return (The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book 2)The Bull Rider's Return by Joan Kilby
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Now THIS is the Reason I love a good Rodeo Cowboy. I was so excited to see this book hit my kindle at midnight last night. I stayed up reading it and boy was I happy I did. Tired today but Oh what I wonderful tired it is. Let me share a wee bit about this book with you so you will understand why I like this book so much.
Cody is a full time rodeo bull and bronc rider and yep champion at that most of the time. With that he catches the ladies eyes and more. One night in Reno he wins big and walks into a diner and happens to meet Kelly, She is waitress who serves him. She also meets her cute son who is there because he didn't have a sitter that night. Ricky is the heart of this story in my opinion as he is what catches Cody's eye and heart. He notices something about Cody and he decides to act in a way that many would think is very un-Cody like. This is the catalyst or the pea that gets under his mattress and never lets him settle again. BUT the same can be said for single mom Kelly as well. But in order for you to know what I am talking about and enjoy this book you will need to read it for yourself.
This book is not all sunshine and roses. There where so many times that I wanted to reach thru my book and shake his family with the way there were treating him. But i come from a large family myself and I understand the makeup and how things shake up and out. Sadly what the author has written is usually true to form or it was in my family's case as well. I loved the fact that so many of my favorite fictional towns were visited in this one book,... Sweetheart, Cherry Lake and of course my home town of Marietta. And in case you are wondering yes we get to catch up with a few characters as well. OH MY Do We.
I am looking forward to reading more from this family because I have a feeling we will understand more about why they act like they do when we read more of their history. ( Remember their are other books about this family and their orchard as well.)
So hope you enjoy it like i did.

The Cowboy Meets His Match (The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book 1)The Cowboy Meets His Match by Sarah Mayberry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a perfect book to open the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo with!

This is one of those books that I have to say tire at my heart strings as much as it also made me want to beat the ever love stuff out of some bronco riders. I love Marietta and this book was like coming home again. Jesse is a rodeo cowboy and we have read about him here and there in other books. I am so happy to finally get to see the inside struggles and gentleman cowboy he can be. Cassidy Jane or CJ oh my word this gal sets the rodeo circuit in FIRE....in both good and bad ways. Author Sarah Mayberry knowledge of both the rodeo as well as ranch life is so real and I have to say I can't wait to read more Carmody family stories soon.

The Best Book of the Year..Hands Down Anywhere Everywhere. Nobody Said It'd Be Easy

Last week I was so blessed to be able to read an advanced copy of a book by the author Patty Blount titled Nobody Said It'd Be Easy. It was the first time I have read any books by this author and let me say she simply blew me away. I saw the cover  and it grabbed my attention.

And then teasers from the book. OH MY...they wet my appetite for more.

But the book itself.. From Cover to Cover is it is the #1 Best Book that I have read this year, from any author, any publisher, any genre'. This is this the book to beat. And i look forward to more books from Author Patty Blount!

Nobody Said It'd Be EasyNobody Said It'd Be Easy by Patty Blount
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh My Giddy Aunt this book had me from the cover alone! Then I cracked it open and started reading and I was spellbound by Super Gabe, his 4 precious girls and Lia the Lovely Lady. This is the first book I have read by author Patty Blount and I am hoping she will write more books along this line in the future. Life is not all sunshine and roses and yes bad things do happen to good people. Death sadly comes a knocking when people least expect it. It is what the people who are left behind do with themselves that really show their character and their true spirit. A widowed father of 4 Gabe quits his higher paying job, becomes a super of a set of apartments away from where he used to live with his wife after she passes unexpectedly. He does this so he can be home to raise those young children while working from home. WoW. Look at the cover and that is so much the book.
Then we have Lia or Amelia a divorced self employed woman who moves into the complex and she turns his work upside down and inside out. BUT truth be told he does the same thing to her. Life is not smooth sailing once she moves in and feels the sparks from day one. OH no not at all. Just because the cute main can walk around with hair clips and painted nails carrying a baby on his hip it doesn't mean a single thing now does it. No it doesn't. One has to fight pre-teens, children with illnesses , self destruction and so much more. I invite you to meet the Iver family and see for yourself why Nobody Said I'd Be Easy.

Their Famous Dominant by Nicole Edwards ...We finally get the True Master Ramsey

Seems like I have been waiting for this book since I met Trent Ramsey way back in Devotion. Every time his name has come up in one of our Author's books it has only wet my appetite for what was to come when Trent's book would finally hit release day. When that day or rather night, arrived this reader could not have been  happier. i stayed up all night reading. Yes I awoke to my kindle flat on my face....kindle face as we call it in my house was the morning face I had.  Actually still have the soreness as that wonderful reminder of reading the first half of this book. Just a little bit of pain to go with the pleasure ya know. And oh what a pleasure this book is. It was so worth the wait to for Master Ramsey to finally wake up to Troy and Clarissa. What makes this book so extra special in my eyes is that fact that one of the secondary characters Zeke, who has his own book Their Ruthless Sadist is featured in this book too. Not only that but the cover model for this book we have come to know as a friend in Nicole's Nation. So it made the book come alive so much more...felt real in a whole other sense.

Their Famous Dominant (Office Intrigue #4)Their Famous Dominant by Nicole Edwards
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I always just knew in my heart of readers heart that Master Ramsey would be the one for Classia but oh my stars, our Author always finds a way to get to heart of each of her characters and make them so real, so honest...so true. I did not see that she was going to where she was with Troy and I am so happy it went there.
Life can lead you in unexpected places you just need to open yourself up and follow. Even if it unconventional...who cares. If you are happy that is all that matters. Look at Master Trent, Troy and Rissa...it took time and lots of communication and love and yes well you really need to read this book to find out how they get from Actor and Assistant to .... well you know. Can not wait for The Ruthless Sadist, Zeke's story is next. Hang on we are going for a whip of a story I can already tell.
